CHARACTER INFORMATION:
Name: Katinka “Katia/Kat/Tink” Rowland
Age: 129 (stuck at 27, though)
Birthdate: July 9, 1891
Year in School or occupation: School Nurse/Teacher of Healing (?)
Race: Whitelighter
Powers: Whitelighter powers (Orbing, Healing, Sensing charges, Telepathy, Whitelighter language, Restoration, Cloaking) and Psychometry
Affiliation: Good
DESCRIPTION:
Physical Description: Katinka has an old fashioned elegance to her and she isn’t too concerned about changing it up to look more modern or attractive by today’s standards. She wears her hair long, easily reaching her lower back/waist when it has been combed and straightened, although it is naturally very curly. No dyes or highlights for this angel—her dirty blond locks match her lightly tanned skin tone and clear blue eyes. Her face is pretty in an average, girl-next-door sort of way, with a nice, big smile that lights up for all the world to see.
Katia was never the type of woman who was terribly concerned about her weight even before she died and was frozen in her late twenties. Her life has always been active enough to stay in shape, but as long as she can handle any dangers facing her charges, she isn’t too concerned about having that perfect, Hollywood physique. She is a bit thick in the waist and is blessed with the curves of a real woman. At 5’ 6”, she is rarely the tallest woman in the room, but she makes it work for her—and adding a nice pair of heels never hurt! Most of her wardrobe is conservative by anyone’s standards and although Katinka doesn’t usually set out to appear severe, no one expects her to be so light-hearted or fun-loving when they see her from a distance.
How did you obtain this power?: Katinka sacrificed herself to protect the two magical children she was charged with nursing, babysitting, teaching. A vampire clan had set their sights on taking over the region protected and ruled by the family and although the battle was lost, the Elders rewarded Katia’s bravery in defending her first two charges and offered her a position Up There. It has been a little over a hundred years since Katia became a whitelighter, but she loves her job and loves getting to know her charges even more. She has never worked with anyone who especially high profile or powerful, but Kat is happy to help whoever and whenever she can.
Character Image and name: Ashley Scott
PERSONALITY:
Likes: Meditating, Shopping, Vintage cars, Victorian houses, Ethnic food/culture, Instrumental music
Dislikes: Horror movies, Cotton candy, Cutting-edge technology, Pop culture, Nightclubs
Greatest strength: Resourceful, caring
Greatest Weakness: Headstrong (stubborn), ignorance
HOME LIFE:
Family: Magus Rowland - Father, Deceased
Moira Rowland - Mother, Deceased
Duana Rowland - Older Sister, Deceased
Patrona Rowland - Neice, Deceased
Gabriel Stefanos - Brother-In-Law, Deceased
History: This is where you character grew up, who raised them, why they have come to the Magic School, or San Fransisco? ...2 paragraphs (6 to 10 sentences)
Any Extra Information: The Elders either couldn’t or didn’t realize to take away her ability to see the past when she made the transition to guardian angel. Either way, Katinka can’t control it and she doesn’t have a trigger for what she sees or when it will/has happened. Sometimes it comes as weak premonitions, long dreams when she is asleep/unconscious, or just a strong intuition about something she touches or a place she walks into…it always gave her migraines when she was mortal, but now it’s just a nuisance and she doesn’t trust it much since it was useless the day she died and couldn’t warn/protect her loved ones.
Password: Wicked (like the book, play, or just naughty?)
Role Play Sample: “That’s amazing, Carl. You are doing really well—now I want you to concentrate on pulling the energy back into yourself. You don’t want to give too much to Heal anyone else, because then what good will you be to look after them?” Patting him lightly on the shoulder to avoid distracting the boy, Katinka turned to face the rest of her students and addressed them in a slightly louder voice. “You must never allow yourselves to lose yourselves for any one patient, especially if you are in a dangerous environment. After a Healing, anyone will need help and a little time to get back on their feet and it defeats the purpose if you fall over and faint on top of whoever you tried to help…” She delivered the speech-cum-lecture with a smile and a special look for one or two of her pupils who had already learned that lesson the hard way.
Fortunately, Dimension Three had lived up to its reputation after the Charmed Ones opened Magic School here and someone contacted the school about the two students who’d passed out. It always pleased Kat to know that what she taught in the classroom went beyond the walls of the school, but she didn’t want anyone overextending themselves before they were prepared to handle the effects. She knew how hard it was to let go of someone, especially if you should have been there, could have stopped their suffering and eased their pain even for awhile. She shook her head abruptly, dispelling memories of her past as she approached the front of the classroom and wrote out this class’s homework assignment. The wind chime earrings she had received last Christmas from a student who’d graduated sounded at her ears for only Kat to hear and soothed her before she faced the class again and dismissed them until next time!
